About TOM CHRPA VISUALS
I grab alot of inspiration from action sports and action sports lifestyle, skateboarding culture being a main influence. I love being able to work in multi media and art because of the endless places it's brought me. I've literally been across the world and back. Living, working and skateboarding in the Czech Republic I got a job at a television station as a video editor. A year later I moved back to Florida to start working freelance video and editing. I linked up with "FOX's Fuel TV", and multiple artist, musicians, athletes, and businesses to create content. I juggling freelance video and editing on my free time along with one of my passions to make art. I took some time off from video and wanted to work on my art, so I apprenticed with one of the best South Florida airbrush artist bringing me to move to Ft. Lauderdale for a year. He taught me alot about airbrushing and then sparked my interest with glass etching “glazing” and a way to combine the two, since Ive been able to implement the two into my artwork. I am always looking to expand my knowledge of working with my hands and expressing creativity. Recently Ive found myself working at a South Florida based small local bicycle shop going on 7.5 years learning proper repairs and mechanics of bicycles. Servicing bicycles I also became more efficient and proficient diagnosing common technical problems with up-to-date modern bikes. I believe you can never know enough and I’m not done learning but absorbing what I’m taught to better my knowledge of bicycle mechanics and also being able to share the knowledge. I feel the “art” of bicycles has definitely made me a better artist implemneting creating visual pleasing work and technically work with my hands creating something from nothing, weather its restoring a old bicycle or modifying your end result is a working piece of functional “art”. This has just summed up quickly my activity of work in the past 10 years".
Why Visual Artist?
I like to do it all when it comes to anything visual. I like to create visually pleasing work from my vision or a clients when it comes to video, graphics, photos, and art. Drawing at a young age then picking up a video camera later in my teens “I learned there are many platforms of canvas to create art, I don't limit my self but learn and create.” -Tom Chrpa
